Book club sessions vary in length depending on the book. Book clubs are 5-6 weeks. "Mini" book clubs are 3 weeks. "Drop In and Read" book clubs are one time occurrences. Most book clubs meet for one hour weekly unless stated otherwise in registration.
As a group the children will listen to the story being read by Olivia (she's the kind who changes voices and is sure to evoke emotion as she reads!). They have the option to follow along in their own book, or just sit back and enjoy the read aloud. Roughly 20-25 minutes will be spent reading and discussing the story. Afterwards, the children will engage in hands-on activities inspired by what was just on the pages.
Each book will have unique activities since stories will vary. However, games, crafts, challenges and other thematic hands-on activities can be expected at book club.

No. Children do not need to know how to read to enjoy stories or our book club.
While reading more will gradually improve reading, we do not have formal reading instruction at Lived (L)it.
